Full disclosure: I'm David, the founder of Rainier Watch, and I've been wearing this jacket almost every day since we finally got it right.
I started working on the Muir Anorak almost a year ago. And I mean actually working on it, not just approving a sample. We went through close to half a dozen iterations before I felt good about it. For a while I was testing versions with a generic topo print, and every time I looked at it I knew something was off. It didn't feel like us. The whole point of this jacket is that it's made for people who actually care about the mountain, so the only print that made sense was Mount Rainier, pulled from real USGS topo data. Once we locked that in, everything clicked.
The jacket itself is built for PNW weather, which basically means it needs to handle anything. It's 100% recycled nylon ripstop, packs down small, and sheds rain without making you feel like you're wearing a trash bag. The waterproof zippers and paracord pulls are small things you don't think about until you're fumbling with a zipper in the rain and suddenly very grateful. The kangaroo pocket up front fits more than you'd expect, the bungee at the waist keeps wind out when you actually need it to, and the elastic cuffs seal things up nicely without cutting off circulation.
I've had mine on ferry rides, trail runs, and a lot of coffee shop runs where I just didn't feel like changing. It goes over a midlayer no problem, and when the sun comes out it stuffs into itself and goes in your pack.
It's my go-to this spring. I think it'll be yours too.

Dimensions are spot on, and I would say they fit true to size. The material is flexible and breathable, and the overall fit is perfect for a shorter inseam shirt with a looser leg opening. 5/5 stars.

Absolutely love this jacket. It fits me great all around, even with some layers underneath. I took this on a short backpacking trip this last weekend and it did performed beautifully. It’s a bit bulky and doesn’t pack as well as my other puffer but it’s not a deal breaker by any means, and I knew that going in so it’s no surprise. Temps were in the low 30s and I had it on over just a sunshine and I was feeling good. I’d highly recommend this jacket for everyday use, camping, and short backpacking trips. It could probably be fine on longer trips if you can plan around the bulkier nature of it. Also the color looks amazing in person.

Well, it's a water bottle. But this water bottle features a stylized topographic map of Mount Rainier design on the outside. Other than that, well, it's a water bottle. It has a capacity of 32 oz., so bigger than a typical 24-oz. water bottle. It's too big to fit in the door pocket or cup holder in my car. But still, I will cherish it for the beautiful art work. I won't be covering it with stickers. I'll just look at it and imagine being on Mount Rainier.
